Hello, hello, welcome back to All Things Skin, wellness and Faith. This week's breadcrumb of faith, we are going to talk a little bit about a subject that you guys may like or not like. We are talking about roller coasters.
Speaker 1:Today this is going to be very interesting because a while back or not so much of a while back, I say maybe, I don't know, maybe two months ago, the Lord gave me a really interesting dream, and this interesting dream was about roller coasters. And you know, sometimes you know the Lord will speak for me through dreams and sometimes, you know, it's just in my private time with him. But as I was in my private time, I was just asking him about this whole roller coaster thing and I was just like Lord, you know what is this? What roller coaster. Like I'm not really a big fan of roller coasters. As a child, I definitely did like amusement parks and there was some rides and things that I liked, but not necessarily roller coasters. I am not a big fan of things that make you scared. I'm not the type of person that is really like a thrill seeker or anything of that. So I was really kind of just digging in deep and trying to figure out what this whole roller coaster thing was about, and in my time it was revealed to me that this roller coaster was basically telling me and preparing me for an up and down time in my life, a challenging time in my life. So what he was saying to me is just like you're on a roller coaster and you're running up and down in loops and twists and turns, it was going to be a time that I was coming into, that could be a very volatile time in my life, and what I was being told is that yet, even though it seemed to be, or it would seem to be, a challenging situation, it would be carried out with the promise of a swift completion and it would be carried out with victory. Wow, I said. God, that is very interesting. I said.
Speaker 1:You know, I'm not really, like I said, a big fan of roller coasters, and having a situation take place like this in my life doesn't really sound like it's going to be all that much fun. But If you're in it with me, lord God, if you're on the passenger side or in the seat with me in this roller coaster, then let's do it. So just to tell you, to make a long story short, for the past couple of months it has pretty much been just that a roller coaster. There's been so many trials, so many different things. And now that I can kind of say that I'm on the other side of it, where you know I've been on a roller coaster and I've kind of up, gone, up and down and all around, I can say like whoo, that really was, you know, some roller coaster ride. But I can also see all the lessons that were in it. I can also see all those scary points, like when you're on a roller coaster and you get to the top and then you're about to drop and you're just like I don't know if I'm going to make this or not, and you just get so scared and so worried. This is exactly how I felt over these past couple of months. But I have to tell you that God is so good because through every dip and every drop, every twist and every turn, he has been on the roller coaster ride with me.
Speaker 1:What I have gone through in this season just to give you a brief synopsis of moving a business and enrolling in school and some other challenges and things that have gone on personally have just been such a test of faith and it's worked in such a good way, because you cannot go out and you cannot speak to people about faith just based on reading a few chapters of scripture on faith. You have to live it, you have to go through it and you have to see for yourself that every word that is written in the Bible by the Lord, god himself, every word that he has breathed into every author of each book or each scripture, if you have not walked through it yourself to see that it is absolutely true that it is not going to be effective. And I have to tell you, guys, that in these seasons, when you go through these dips and these twists and turns of life, there are going to be times where you have to have like a walk on water moment, just like Peter did, meaning that you're going to have to get out and you're going to have to walk on that water. And you're going to have to say you know, lord, if it's you, if that's you calling me into this challenge, then I'm going to take it and I'm going to walk. And you literally are not going to be able, and I'm going to walk, and you literally are not going to be able to look at your regular circumstances, what you see with your natural eyes. You're not going to be able to look to your left, you're not going to be able to look to your right, you're not going to be able to say, well, I'm just going to fall or whatever, I'm going to sink. You're going to have to continuously look up. And I tell you that I have been in a season where I've had to look up because if I look to the left or to the right, I absolutely would have sunk and I would have failed in pity. But because through these moments, I have my scripture, I have my word, I know my word and I'm not going to say this to you as if it was an easy walk in the park, because it definitely will not be. But if you are grounded in these areas and to say personally even there were times throughout these situations that I found myself in prayer, in back and forth dialogue with the Lord almost hourly throughout the day, just allowing him to just hold my hand, almost like a father, would you know, hold the child's hand and say, okay, get up.
Speaker 1:You fell a little bit, get up and walk, come on a few more steps. And then you looking up to your father and saying, okay, you know, I took these two steps. Now what? So this was my situation. It's like I've done these two things, you've called me to do this. Now what's next? What's the next thing?
Speaker 1:It almost reminds me of Elijah when he was dealing with Jezebel, and this is not a scripture that I planned on referencing, so I don't have the exact location of it, but I know that I believe it's in 2 Kings, I believe, and you can look up the whole story in 2 Kings of Elijah and Jezebel. But basically it's like, okay, you step out and you do this one thing that the Lord has called you to do, and then you have to go back to him and you have to be like, okay, god, you called me to do this, I've done it. What's next and you let him strategically lead you step by step, by step by step. It's almost like you're walking blindfolded and you're just allowing him to just navigate you and whisper into your ear and say, okay, now take a left, now take a right, go straight, go four steps, stop and you have to go back to him and you have to see what the next steps are.
Speaker 1:But this, what it has taught me, is how to 100% have reliance on the Lord, god himself, and lean not on your own understanding. I have to tell you, in my new business now I actually the Lord, has shown me and led me to put Proverbs 3.5 on a wall. And Proverbs 3.5 is like a really cliche type of verse. It's a verse that you see on t-shirts, on coffee mugs and like, if you're a Christian, or it's so cliche that even if you're not a Christian, you probably know it. It's trust in the Lord with all your might and lead, not on your own understanding. And basically the rest of it is in all your ways, let him guide your steps. And I forgot the rest of it completely. But it's basically telling you about that ultimate having that ultimate trust in the Lord.
Speaker 1:And I have to tell you that Proverbs 3, 5, and 6 has never resonated with me so deep until I've gotten off this recent spiritual rollercoaster is what I'm going to call it and you really, in these moments and this is the reason he allows us to go through these moments is to test us and to see okay, you've read all these scriptures, you said all these, you know feel good words, you know I trust you, lord, I love you. Now let me see, put your money where your mouth is. And boy oh boy, did I get the test of test, of test, like it's not the final exam, because I don't believe it's my time to go before the Lord and see him. But I can definitely tell you that this past couple of months has been such a testing and I'm happy to tell you you know that I came out on the other side. I'm happy to come and to give you the testimony and you can't have a testimony without a test To tell you that, through my own journey of walking through it, every word of the scripture is true.
Speaker 1:It is going to hurt, it's going to absolutely stink, there's going to be some blood, sweat and tears, there's going to be a lot of crying out to the Lord, but you can stand on his word, you can lean on him 1000% and he will carry you through. I mean, we look at these scriptures, just something that you hear repeatedly in the Bible like he will never leave and forsake you. And I can tell you as a living testimony that I have been faced with some situations and I can tell you that he will never leave or forsake you. It is true, I can tell you that I've been faced with some moments that Lord, if you don't come through right now, in the next 10 seconds, like I don't know what I'm going to do. And I can tell you that he has absolutely come through. Every single time, supernatural things have taken place that it could only be God. So I bring you this little bit of encouragement today, and this is not a little encouragement, this is a big encouragement, guys, and I really want you, in those diehard situations when life is just beating you upside the head with a baseball bat, I really want you to know that our God is so true, our God is so good.
Speaker 1:And the other scripture I want to leave you and I should have this like right in front of my face, but I do not, because the Lord has repeated it to me a couple of times over the month, and that scripture is from Habakkuk 2.3 and it reads For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it will speak and it will not lie, though it tarries. Wait for it, because it will surely not tarry. So I've read that scripture actually in a couple of different versions, and every version is different but certainly reads in a way that I can tell you will certainly hit home when you're going through these type of situations. So that was the New King James Version. Another version reads in a Christian standard, which is a CSB For the vision is yet for an appointed time. It testifies about the end and it will not lie, though it delays. Wait for it, since it will certainly come and not be late. So that just really reminds us that God is always on time, he always comes through in that midnight hour and that his timing is perfect.
Speaker 1:This also reminds me of another one of my favorite staple scriptures, which is Psalm 40, verse 2. And I believe I reflected on this in the previous episode, and that is, I waited and waited and waited some more patiently, knowing that God would come through for me. Then at last he bent down and he listened to my cry. So those two tied together or definitely carry you through those times where you're just waiting extendedly on the Lord and, like I said earlier, you know you're having that walk on water moment where you just have to really step out in faith, this will serve. These scriptures will serve as a bridge and a gap to kind of lead you into that next promised land.
Speaker 1:So that's where I'm going to leave it now for guys, I thank you so much for tuning in today. I'm apologizing once again about being so far and few in between the episodes. I haven't forgotten about you guys. I still very much love doing this podcast. It's just that life has been, you know, one of those very trial and tribulations type of moments that I'm actually walking through myself. So I pray that this encourages you and I will hope to see you back on the next episode. All right, thank you so much. Love you all. Ciao, for now, bye.
