Grieving isn't always about loss; sometimes, it's about growth. Imagine feeling unexplained sadness or depression, only to realize that these emotions are paving the way for a profound spiritual renewal. Join me, Natasha Dias, as I share a heartfelt revelation that I experienced through a deep dialogue with the Holy Spirit. We explore Colossians 3:5-10, dissecting how the process of putting to death our sinful nature can lead to moments of grief that ultimately transform us into stronger, more Christ-like individuals.

This week’s episode of Breadcrumb Of Faith Devotional and offers a fresh perspective on how mourning can be a beneficial and transformative part of our faith journey.

Hi and welcome back to this week's episode of Broadcomers of Faith by all things skin wellness and faith, our weekly encouragement and this is actually going to be an encouragement slash revelation as it was given to me.

Speaker 1:

If you've ever had a moment where you have just kind of felt, you know, depressed or sad for you know a reason that is unexplained, I would just want to invite you to kind of sit down with the Holy Spirit and kind of just take a look on where that's really coming from. I really recently had a moment where the Holy Spirit was just talking to me and this had actually been over the course of a couple days where I've had some revelations come to me about a few different things and I honestly had to sit down with the Holy Spirit and kind of just dive into a little back and forth dialogue and kind of just asking him OK, what is it exactly that you're seeing in this moment, so that I myself could digest it. And what I was led to was a scripture in Colossians. It's Colossians, chapter three, verses five, nine and 10. And that reads where is it so? Put to death sinful, earthly things that are lurking within you have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires. So don't be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater worshiping things of the world. Don't lie to each other, for you have stripped off your old sinful nature and all its wicked deeds. Put your new nature, put on your new nature and be renewed as you learn to know your creator and become more like him. So I feel like sometimes what happens is, you know, as we grow in our walk and we grow with Christ, we're constantly working to be renewed in Christ, daily. The Bible says I believe it's in Romans to renew your mind daily. Daily. The Bible says I believe it's in Romans to renew your mind daily. And I'm sure we are all striving and we all are looking to do that and to grow to be more Christ-like.

Speaker 1:

But what happens is, sometimes we can have things that lie dormant, and if we know the definition of dormant, that means that things can lie down and be silent for a time, but it doesn't really mean that they're gone, that they're dead. It means that they can come back and be revived at any point in time. And I think, in a situation like this, I know what I was going through or what was being revealed in me that there are some things that can still or are still lying dormant, that have not been truly put to death. Now, anytime you put something to death or anytime you experience death is what I want to say there's a mourning that goes along with that, and so, in this situation, what was revealed to me is that, basically, this is a time of death, a time of pruning, a time with things that are truly being cut off of you in a pruning season. So, as you have death, you have mourning, and as you have mourning, you have sadness or depression. So all those things lie together. So, in the sense of the world and our natural nature, we can look at not sin, I'm sorry we can look at depression and sadness as being a bad thing, but in this situation it's more towards a period of renewal, a period of the Lord pruning you, taking these things off, chopping these things off, making sure that they're not just dormant, but that they're actually gone, dead, alive, gone, never to be revived again. And so in this situation, we can see that mourning is actually a good thing. Actually, when you're going through a grieving session, mourning is actually good because it allows you to get over that death and move on to the next chapter in your life. And that is exactly what is going on in this situation.

Speaker 1:

So in the Bible we know that in Matthew that Jesus talks about dying to self. And this is exactly what's going on here Putting these old things, these old natures, completely to death so that they cannot be renewed, so that I'm not so that, yes, so they cannot be renewed, so that we can be renewed and we can walk in that new Christ-like nature. So what I want to do is I want to just ask you to like, go over this word in your own time, and just I want to invite you to ask the Lord, ask the Holy Spirit, to reveal to you any natures, anything that may be in you that is lying dormant, that really needs to be put to death, because if things are lying dormant, then that means that they have the chance to come back and that means that they can come back to haunt you at a time where it can really be a hindrance to your growth and to your walk. And I feel like it's really important that we make sure that these things cannot just creep back, because if they can creep back, just like weeds in a garden, they can choke the life out of all the good things, they can choke the life out of your flowers, they can choke the life out of your good fruit per se, and we do not want that to happen. So in your private time today, I invite you to go over the scripture Again.

Speaker 1:

That was in Colossians, chapter three. It's verses five, nine and 10. And basically, like I said, it's just talking about death, putting off your old self and walking in renewal of your new self. All right, so that is it for now. We want to keep this short and sweet, as it is a breadcrumb, but just a chance for you to just, you know, reevaluate and just take a look at where you are in your spiritual walk, and always. You know, just as Christ invites us to grow and to grow in him, I want to invite you to do the same thing, just to make sure that you know we're going from glory to glory to glory. All right, that's it for now. Like I said, we want to keep this short and sweet Until the next time. Be blessed and be a blessing. Bye.
