Hi, welcome back to another episode of All Things Skin Wellness and Faith Breadcrumbs of Faith, which is our devotional. I want to welcome you guys back for a devotional. It's been a little bit since I've done one, but things have been pretty busy on this end as far as ministry, school goals and things of that nature. So welcome, welcome back and let's dive into today's tidbit of encouragement.
Speaker 1:Today I just want to come to you from a place of just kind of helping you guys out, those of you that may be feeling a little bit of frustration. I know I've spoken and I've come in contact with people lately especially as we wrap up on the end of the year just about why I can't. I can't even believe it's gone by so fast and I'm just like, wow, we're already in November. But sometimes this November time can be a time of reflection and we may have not hit every single goal that we set out to embark on since January and especially. I don't know about you, but for me this year has absolutely just flown by and I can't necessarily say that I've hit every single goal the way I planned on at the beginning of the year. And I just want to come to you from a place of letting you know that you know that's OK, we are not perfect. It's good to have goals, but then it's also good to take a time and look at those goals and Look at it from a place of maybe I didn't complete all of them, but what did I complete, and give yourself a little bit of credit, give yourself a little tap on the back, slap on the shoulder and just say, hey, I didn't do it all, but I definitely did something. I didn't just spend a year on my couch watching TV. I'm absolutely sure if you look at it, and if you look at it prayerfully and let the Holy Spirit show you which is what we're going to dive into in a minute, you'll actually see that you probably did more than you give yourself credit for. If you're, like me, that type A personality, you can be so much of a go-getter that you're so focused on the fact that you didn't do it all that you don't give yourself credit for what you did do, and that can actually, you know, that can just inhibit you just a little bit, and it's very important that you know we give ourselves credit and we reevaluate and we take this time just to see okay, I didn't do this, but I did do this, and these are the things that I'm going to change to make 2025 more of a success. So I know me personally. I'm in that realm of situations right now. I'm in that realm of situations right now.
Speaker 1:There are definitely some things that I did and I'm quite sure that our Father, the Lord, he is pleased with me and he's a gracious God. He's a God that gives us mercy, that forgives us for our shortcomings, and you have to go to Him and you have to basically, in your prayer time, say to you know, basically in your prayer time, say, okay, god, this is what I wanted to do. Is there a reason that you didn't allow me to quite execute this way. Is it something that I did, that I personally fell short, shortened, or is maybe this just wasn't the time for you to get the things done that you had on your to-do list? So there's a lot to look into there and we have to go through our life prayerfully and we have a divine helper, which is really what I wanted to speak about on is John 14.
Speaker 1:Let's see, I believe it's John 14, 17. I'm just looking over the whole entire chapter really quickly. All right, so it's actually going to be John 14, 16, and 17. And that reads and I will pray to the father and he will give you another helper that may abide with you forever. So I'm going to pause right there before I go into 17. And I'm going to reflect on that. And I will pray to the father this is Jesus speaking and he will give you another helper that he may abide with you forever. So that helper is the Holy Spirit.
Speaker 1:The Holy Spirit is our divine helper, and so, for me, I've really been diving into the scripture. I've really been studying the third person of the Godhead, which is the Holy Spirit. You have God, the Father, god the Son, which is Jesus, and then the Holy Spirit and just really reflecting on who is the Holy Spirit as a person. We serve a triune God, we serve what I like to call a 3D God. And I like to say a 3D God because sometimes we just look at God and God himself and then we look at God and we look at Jesus.
Speaker 1:And I know, for me a long time in my walk it was a little bit confusing, confusing the separation between God the father and God the Son, jesus, and now that I'm learning more about the Holy Spirit, just putting each one into this perspective place. So these two verses right here and there's a bunch of verses that break it down, but these were really key for me 17, john 14,. 17 continues on with the spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive because he neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he dwells within you and will be within you. So, because it says right here that I'm leaving you with another, which is a Holy Spirit, here that I'm leaving you with another, which is the Holy Spirit, that another, the third person, is already within us. Now, this is how I've come to understand the Holy Spirit.
Speaker 1:The Holy Spirit, to me and as the Bible depicts, is your little trusty assistant. No matter what you're going through throughout the day. And I'm going to give you an example a problem that I had with a printer, a problem that I had just zipping up my granddaughter's coat because it was a little bit stuck. The Holy Spirit is like that trusty little assistant that is there to help you through no matter what, those dire straits, situations where we just don't know what we're going to do, where we're flustered, where we're in a pinch, where we're running late. We have to get out the door, we have to get this done. The Holy Spirit is there to help us. And those two situations that I just described to you. You know, just my printer.
Speaker 1:I was having a problem with my printer the other day. I really needed to get something printed out really quick and I just couldn't figure out why it wasn't connecting to the Wi-Fi. And I literally in that moment, said OK, holy Spirit, I really need your help with this. Can you just help me see it through and miraculously guess what happened? I was able to boop, boop, boop and all of a sudden my printer was connected to the Wi-Fi and I was able to print out what I needed to print out and I immediately said thank you, holy Spirit. That's the power of the Holy Spirit in a small, tangible moment. The same thing I was having a problem with my granddaughter's jacket. I think it was this morning. This is a jacket that has been stuck quite a few times. We actually told her you know what? The zipper's just broken. Just forget it. You're going to have to use the buttons and that's it. And then I got the little reminder but you have this helper. He has left you a helper. And I said okay, holy Spirit, I really need your help, I need you to fix this zipper for me. And even my little seven-year-old granddaughter was in amazement that after I said that, that the jacket worked.
Speaker 1:These are not coincidences, and I know that some people may not really believe that it was the Holy Spirit. It all depends on where your faith is. But where my faith is, I live by these scriptures, I live by the word of God, I live by faith and I walk by faith and not by sight. And I know that these scriptures are true when it says that I've left you with a helper. He's left us with a helper, from everything, to the big health problem, the big financial problem to the little condition with a printer or with a zipper.
Speaker 1:And what I want to kind of relate to you guys today is that as we speak and we think about these goals and we think about all these things that we didn't do, that we wanted to accomplish but didn't exactly come to pass, we can look at it from two different directions. Number one were they in alignment with the will of God, were they in God's timing? And number two did we tap into the divine help that we have? And so what I've been reflecting on this year is just knowing that the Holy Spirit, he's a spirit of truth, he's a spirit of revelation. So if you're not on the right path of truth, he's a spirit of revelation. So if you're not on the right path, he's the one you want to go to in your prayer time and just ask to illuminate that truth, to make sure that you're on the right path, to make sure that we're not just seeking things that are not exactly in alignment with the will of God. Once you have that confirmed, then you need to ask him to help you, because he is there to help us. The Holy Spirit actually wants us to address him.
Speaker 1:Okay, holy Spirit, I need you to help me to get through this presentation. I need you to help me with these children, I need you to help me for the men out there, as I'm working on this car and I'm trying to get these pieces into place and things are just not working well. Whatever the situation is, we as believers, we as sons and daughters of the Lord, have a divine helper. So, really, when the Bible says, you know, we don't have to worry, we don't have to worry because we have the spirit of truth, we have the spirit of revelation and we have something that the world does not have, which is exactly what the scripture says, because they do not believe, they do not have faith, they cannot. You know, they don't have the relationship that we have with God, the Father, and with Jesus. And now what I want you guys to start to focus on is establishing that relationship and to acknowledge more of the Holy Spirit, because as you tap into the Holy Spirit who is already housed within you, things will just start to illuminate. The truth of the God, of the Trinity God the Father, god the Son and the Holy Spirit will all start to synergistically come together as one and you will just be empowered.
Speaker 1:I believe it's Acts 1 and 8 that says when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you will have power. It's in 1 Corinthians. I believe it's chapter 15 or 14. I don't have these scriptures exactly down, but when it starts to talk about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, we have giftings through the Holy Spirit, we have power through the Holy Spirit, we have divine help through the Holy Spirit. So we don't have to go through life flustered. We don't have to go through life just thinking that how am I going to do this and I have to do this and I have to do that. We have a divine helper.
Speaker 1:So I just want to encourage you guys today, with these scriptures and with the new knowledge not new knowledge, but the more focused knowledge that I've personally put on the Holy Spirit I want to encourage you to do the same, because once you start to incorporate the Holy Spirit into more of your prayers throughout the day, once you start to incorporate the Holy Spirit into just every single aspect of your spiritual walk, you will start to see things really start to illuminate, you will start to see things really start to change and you'll have less worry, less anxiety, less frustration and you'll have more results.
Speaker 1:So, as we embark on, you know, the end of the year, and we're looking at goals and we're looking at, you know, things we didn't accomplish, this is just an encouragement for you to, you know, take more of a deeper look, or deeper, you know, prayer, walk with the Holy Spirit so that, when you start 2025 off, you started off strong and you started encouraged and you started with the Holy Spirit. All right, guys, I'm going to wrap it up for you today, as this is just a breadcrumb, just a short little nugget, and to the next time I'll see you. Ciao. For now, thank you.
