Speaker 1:Almost a full month of 2025 has gone by, like I seriously can't wrap my head around it. I'm like the holidays have just come and gone. We've gone through, you know, like Christmas, turkey Day, everything, new Year's, and now we're just coming up on Valentine's Day. Well, we are almost into the second month of the new year, but I am still holding on to a subject that I want to say. I don't want to say it's near and dear, even though it's near and dear, but what it is basically is what you know, the Lord has just put on my heart to discuss. It's something that I've been discussing with clients and, you know, working on with myself myself and I always love to relate to you guys. You know, real, actual, factual stuff. None of this is planned um months in advance. I do kind of do my podcast episodes according to the leading of the Lord, wherever he has me to speak about, and lately I've just been on this whole thing of detox. Detox is what he has been speaking to me and let me see how can I put this Basically.
Speaker 1:When we start off to New Year, I think I said on my last episode I'm not even sure what I said on my last episode, but anyways, as we go into the new year, we often start off, as you guys are all well aware of. We start off with the new year's resolutions and the goals and you know the new eating patterns and I'm going to do this and I'm going to do that and all those things. All well and great Love, all those things. But I was just kind of sitting and what the Lord was just bringing to my attention. What I was thinking about is and I kind of think about this every year is, why do we fall off from these things? Why do these things never? I don't want to say never, but statistics show that the majority of these goals that we start off with in the beginning of the new year tend to fall off, you know, around the second, third month of the year or so. And I was just kind of sitting and pondering, you know, with the Lord, and I'm just like okay, like why is this?
Speaker 1:And I heard a couple of things and I think I touched on this on last year's January episode Wow, can't believe Marvadeen, the second year of a podcast, but that's another story. I was just thinking about this last year and last year and this year what I heard was one failure to involve the Lord. Like, we make these plans and we want to do all these amazing things, which is all good, but I feel like I don't feel like I know that you know, sometimes we may fail to involve the Lord in our plans and the Bible tells us, you know, that the steps of a righteous man are ordained by the Lord. So I feel that it's so important that, as we make our plans, that we go back and we just check in with him and we just say okay, lord, you know, I have the desire to do this. I have the desire to lose weight, I have the desire to I'm thinking of random things off the top of my mind here I have the desire to exercise more. I have the desire to become, you know, more organized with the way I keep things. Whatever your desires are, do we lift them up to the Lord.
Speaker 1:The Bible also says that he will give us the desires of our heart, and I think that that particular scripture gets a little bit chopped up, abused, however you want to say it, but it almost makes it sound like the Lord is a magic genie and it's like whatever you want, he'll give it to you. No, that isn't correct. What that scripture is really saying is, when we align ourselves with him, our desires become his desires, and then we desire with what he wants. Um, I'm sorry, we desire. We desire what he wants is what I meant to say. And so that's when everything falls into place, because we are synergistically, you know, in alignment with exactly with what he wants.
Speaker 1:But if we're just running on a rampant and we're just like you know, I want to do this and I want to, you know, make, you know, x amount of money and I want to, you know, lose weight and all these things. We cannot necessarily say that those are his priorities for us. So one thing I want to say with that is, as you're making your New Year's resolutions and your goals and this is not the whole topic of the day, this is just me backtracking a little bit Are we making sure that we're in alignment with what he wants with us? Once we have that piece in place, I think that we can go forward. Once we have that piece in place, I think that we can go forward.
Speaker 1:And I think that, like I said, this is not the whole topic New Year's resolutions. As we're going into the second month, I don't want to, you know, continue to beat the New Year's thing with the dead horse. But basically, what I want to say is like, if you don't have a foundation that is based in him, then it's almost kind of like I say about skincare and like washing your face. If you're not washing your face with the proper cleanser, then your foundation is off and you're kind of springing off a board. That is not really in alignment with the way, the direction you're trying to go. So it's very important that, yes, we have our list of goals and things that we want to do, but we come back and we kind of check in with the Lord and we're like okay, god, I desire to do this. What do you think? What says you? Oh, lord? Um, yeah, to just kind of make sure that you know, the author of our story, which is God Almighty himself, has say over everything that we are doing, and then I think that we can have a much better success rate if we start off from that level more than anything else.
Speaker 1:With that being said, what I did really want to dive into was detox as we start off in the new year. I know food is also a big subject for me right now because there's just so much going on with it that it really it drives me nuts, it drives me wild. I think it's um so important that we don't take it lightly. But, um, going into the new year and we may stay strong, you know, we may stay strong for a little bit, but I feel like, going into the new year, especially with eating and exercise patterns and, um, things that we're doing of that nature, I feel like, sometimes, if we don't see results in what we're doing of that nature. I feel like sometimes if we don't see results in what we're doing, that that can also be a little bit of a deterrent.
Speaker 1:And when you're going into something like diet, exercise, eating, things like that, you have to prepare. I don't think it's really fair and I think we start off a little bit wrong. I don't think it's really fair that we just go into things and say you know, I'm going to do this and I'm going to do that. I think that we should really take some time to mentally prepare for what we're going to do. That's one thing. I think another thing we need to do is just really kind of map it out, is just really kind of map it out. Map it out meaning okay, like and mentally prepare we're going to. Let me see how do I want to put this? Let me see I'm sorry Brain freeze for a second, sorry about that, but I think we need to map it out in the sense of really get a grasp around what it is we're going to do, the why behind. We want to do it, what does it mean to us? And I think when you have like that kind of solid ground and you've mapped everything out, you also have a better chance at being successful.
Speaker 1:So, basically, what I'm saying is, before you go in and you say, okay, you know, it's the first of the year, I'm going to go to the gym, I'm going to eat right, have a little back and forth dialogue with yourself. And this is after you, you know, have your little meeting with the Lord and you've identified okay, this is what I want to do. Are you in agreement, lord? Okay, we can now move forward. This will be like your step two, and after you sit down and you have that little bit of dialogue, then you have something to kind of hold on to and to grasp on to, that.
Speaker 1:When the road gets a little bit bumpy, that you know, you can go back and you can say, okay, well, I've mapped this out. I've said to myself I'm going to start eating right. And I'm going to start eating right because, you know one, I have this heart condition, or I have high blood pressure, or I have diabetes, and I know that. You know, I tend to have a sweet tooth. So if I want to, you know, enjoy the rest of my life in a certain way, where I'm not constantly on medications and I'm not going through all these different things, then these are the things that I have to, that I need to do to sustain. Sustain, you know, a good lifestyle to you know, be healthy for my family, my children, my husband, my wife, whatever may have you.
Speaker 1:I also think, with the eating and this is really what I wanted to dive into was detoxing, and so, even when I said to prepare and to map things out, in a sense, that is also a kind of a detox. I think that what you're doing is you're taking out all these old thoughts, all these mindsets, you're mapping everything out, and then you're just getting rid of old mindsets or you're preparing to get rid of old mindsets, to prepare you to go forward in the future, and so you don't have, like, this sudden shift of like oh, yesterday was Christmas and you know I was eating chocolates and the sweets and all this thing, and now, all of a sudden, you know it's January 1st and I'm just going to do the right thing, snap my fingers really quickly. I'm just going to do the right thing and start eating right, because it's the right thing to do. No, you have a thought out plan. You've detox and separated in your mind what are some of the things and the reasons you need to separate from these things and you've kind of laid a foundation for yourself.
Speaker 1:Now, in looking at the word detox, the detox means to remove toxins. So when we're talking about removing toxins, we're talking in the sense of our body, and then I'm also talking in the sense of a mindset. So we want to detox negative mindsets. Just like if you're going on an eating plan and this is one thing that I really wanted to hone in on but the two kind of tie together If you're going to eat right, you're going to switch up your eating. I think it's very important to see results that you detox first. So what does that mean Prior to just going all of a sudden and just being like, okay, I'm going to eat the vegetables and the salad, I'm going to do this, I'm going to do that your body has stored up depending on who you are, how you eat.
Speaker 1:I know some of a lot of us eat differently, but if we have indulged over the holidays per se and this is just, you know, a broad spectrum, this is not everyone's situation but if we have been eating a certain way, certain way for a certain amount of time and then all of a sudden, we just tell our bodies you know what, now we're going to eat right, now we're going to start doing kale and veggies and all these good things. Your body's going to be like, huh, what you know, it's going to be hard to kind of make that shift all of a sudden. So, as we are in this journey of a new year and we're in this journey of going on and eating right, and, you know, doing all these things, exercising, we've mentally prepared our mind so that we can kind of go forth and, you know, prosper per se. We can go forth and, you know, be successful in all that we're going to do. We prepared the mind, but now we need to prepare the body. And so detox has been huge for me, because one thing I've been doing myself, outside of the fast that I'm on right now, but just to focus on detox, I've been detoxing, basically doing a juicing detox, basically doing a juicing detox, and what that is is just taking in certain juices that you know I'm making, that I'm juicing myself celery, spinach, cilantro, different things like that, to clean out all of the muck that is in my body, to clean out your colon, to clean out your blood, to clean out your liver so that when you go and you're ready to start eating your good foods, your salads, your grains, when you're making your transition from the bad foods to the good foods, you now have a clean slate. It's not just like all of a sudden, I'm going from you know Christmas foods and into you know this clean eating thing.
Speaker 1:And I think that a lot of the what's the word I want to use A lot of the lack of success I guess you could say that, we see, is because of that is we, because we fail to transition in a lot of these things? I feel like we just jump from one to the other and we just think, okay, all of a sudden, I'm going to, you know, change these new things and I'm changing to these new mindsets and these new ideas. And we don't have that transitionary period of, you know, cleaning out the old, cleaning out the old mindset, cleaning out the old foods that are stored up in our bodies, in our colons, liver, all that stuff. We just go hot from the pot to the frying pan. And I think that, really, this is one of the key elements into being successful in our new plans.
Speaker 1:I think that everything we do should be tied together mind, body and spirit and this is a way like also, like I said, first step I told you guys was we want to go into this prayerfully and, you know, just kind of asking the Lord. You know what he has in mind for us. Once we have that, okay and everything, now we need to follow up with those other two steps. So now you have like like a full strategic plan and where you're set up for success. Now you're like, okay, you know, I've set it up in my mind, I've got the okay from the big guy upstairs, from God. Hopefully, in that prayer you've also had a strategy of how you're going to do it. The strategy, like I said, that I recommend is a detox, like I said, a detox from your mind, a detox in your body, and that's preparing you to dive into, you know, basically an area that is going to lead you more so into success. It's very important that you prepare and, like I said, this detoxing has really been strong on my mind lately.
Speaker 1:There are a couple of different ways that we can detox. When we're talking about detoxing the body, we're talking about, like I said, what I did was like a juice cleanse detox. There are capsules that you can use. I also. I make one, particularly a detox blend, because everybody's not into the juicing thing, although I have to tell you guys, if you haven't started juicing and I don't mean Nutribullet juicing, I mean just a real juicer, where you're, you know, like a masticating juicer or, yeah, that's actually the best one, where it slowly squeezes out all the juices I have to tell you you will find that the results are amazing, amazing, amazing, amazing. I did seven days of all juices, no solid foods, and you would think that one would be ready to kill over and die. I have to tell you that I have never felt better. I'm actually going to incorporate that into one of my upcoming plans, but I'm jumping ahead. Let's reel it back in. That's not exactly what I want to talk about, but I just wanted to hop off on a tangent real quick and tell you guys that if you're not juicing, definitely look into it. It's amazing, it's so good for you.
Speaker 1:But yes, as far as detoxing the body, there are so many different ways that you can do it. You can detox with the juicing. You can detox with, you know, like herbal teas. I do make a detox tea blend as well. Then you can also detox with your capsules, which is basically going to be your herbs that you would take in the tea ground up into capsule form. There are several detox focuses that you can have.
Speaker 1:Overall, what you want to focus on is cleansing out the blood, the liver and the kidneys. I mean, if you're doing a detox with juice, you can do like a green juice detox. There's also a really simple one that's just grapes and lime. That cleanses out the blood, the liver and the kidneys. Like I said, there's teas. The herbs you want to use, like within your teas, would be like burdock, dandelion root, red clover cloves, cardamom and I think sarsaparilla is another one. And then there are foods that you can incorporate, like carrots, which is good for the beta carotene, cilantro, beets, things of that nature. But basically, what you want to do is you want to make sure that you're starting off, cleansing off everything on the inside, making sure that you are, you know, prepared to, you know undertake and to undergo. You know the new path that you're set on, even with embarking on exercise. You know, just like I said, going back to what I said before, mapping these things out, having a plan, knowing your why these are all important before you know. You just go and you know, just say that you know what you're going to do, that you have a really you really have a good, solid foundation to you know, take off on.
Speaker 1:The Bible speaks a lot about well, a lot it does, does, speaks. The bible is very repetitive and, um, it does speak about it a lot. But one scripture, or two scriptures actually one is not exactly um, it's not exactly the um point that I'm talking on, but it does kind of cross references a little bit and it kind of ties into what I'm talking about. And that scripture is in Matthew 9, 16 and 17. That is just which some of us should be familiar with the old wine and the new wine skins. And this one ties in really well.
Speaker 1:It talks about pouring old wine into new wine. I'm sorry, it talks about pouring in new wine into old wineskins. And I'll just read that and then I'll elaborate on it a little bit more. And this is in the TPT, which is a Passion Translation, one of my favorite translations. But it reads and who would mend worn out clothing with new fabric? When the new cloth shrinks, it will rip, making the whole worse than before. And who would pour fresh new wine into an old wineskin. Eventually the wine will ferment and make the wine skin burst, losing everything. The wine is spilled and the wine skin ruined. Instead, new wine is always poured into a new wine skin so that both are preserved. So I mean, that's a pretty straightforward scripture, just kind of speaking on.
Speaker 1:Okay, why would you take something brand new and pour it into something old? Because it's not going to be able to, you know, withstand it. It's not going to be able to hold it up. So how would you go and take you know new ideas, new eating patterns and just throw it on top of you know old things that have built up? You wouldn't be able to do that. You need to have a new mindset. You need to out with the old, as they say, and in with the new. So before you can go and, you know, embark on these new journeys, really disattach, disassociate yourself with the old ways of thinking. Really remove the old foods. You know the old that built up, all the things that are in the colon, the liver, you know the blood. Really cleanse out all that oldness so that when you do pour the newness in, you can pour it in into something that is solid that will hold up. Like the scripture said, if you pour the new wine in the old wine skins it would burst open. That's the same thing we're talking about. If you just try to dump all these new ways and you haven't really fully grasped in your mind or even have it set up in your body to hold up per se this new mindset, this new eating plan, then it's only going to last for so long.
Speaker 1:And then the other one, the other scripture that I had, speaks a little bit differently, but I still want to read it anyways, and this one's out of the NLT. What sorrow awaits you, teachers of religious law, and you Pharisees, hypocrites, for you are so careful to clean the outside of your dish, but on the inside you are filthy, full of greed and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee, first wash the inside of the cup in the dish and then the outside will become clean too. What sorrow awaits you, teachers of religious law, you Pharisees, hypocrites, for you are like whitewashed tombs beautiful on the outside but filled inside with dead people's bones and all sorts of impurity. Outwardly you look like righteous people, but inwardly your hearts are filled with hypocrisy and lawlessness. So that one is a little bit different, but still kind of same. Just basically, I hate to say this, but the first thing that reminds it, this one reminds me of, is just people that are I'm trying to think of a way to say this so that it's not harsh, but I'm just going to throw it out there People focus on vanity.
Speaker 1:People focus on, you know, just going to the gym and you know, maybe taking care of their skin and doing things just for the sake of just looking good, not really wanting to change their health or really implement a change that is truly going to be beneficial to the whole body, but more so looking to make changes and I hope I don't step on anyone's toes with this one but like Botox per se. It's like you want Botox and we want fillers and things like that in order to change the way we look, in order to change things from a point of vanity. But, honestly, if we take care of our bodies on the inside, then things will begin to reflect on the outside as they change on the inside. So I think this kind of speaks towards that inside. So I think this kind of speaks towards that and it's saying okay, you want to focus on the outside, but you need to clean up on the inside first. You want to focus on what I look like according to everybody else, but you haven't changed your mindset. You just want to put on per se you know makeup, and maybe have a nip and a tuck hair or tummy tuck, or you just want to do all these. You know superficial things for glam and for beauty, but you don't want to take care of the root problem.
Speaker 1:Don't be a hypocrite is basically what that scripture is saying. So that is another narrative of it. Like, if we do these things, we want to make sure that our mindset is right. We want to make sure that we're just not like you know, oh, I look fat. Or you know, oh, I. You know I'm going to go and I'm going to start on, you know, skincare or have you know whatever, just because I look like this. We want to make sure that we change our entire mindset from the inside out, and that is what this scripture is speaking on. It's just like a 360 cleanup.
Speaker 1:I feel like what I hear the Lord saying right now is to clean it up all completely true and righteously, not to just be. You know, focus on the vanity side of it, and this is what I've tailored my whole entire business to is not so much like oh you know, I want to get rid of these wrinkles, or, you know, I want, you know, my skin to not be blotchy, or whatever. I want to take care of my skin from the inside. If I am on too much sugar, because sugar causes glycation in the skin and that's a form of wrinkling, well then everything and I tell my clients this all the time everything that we see going on the outside with our skin is a reflection of something that is a misalignment on the inside.
Speaker 1:So, while we can go get, you know, botox and Juvederm and you know whatever surgeries, lapband and all these different things, and we can lose weight extra fast and Ozempic and whatever it is, while we can do all these quick fixes, these things are designed to show us to take a look on the inside. This is how the Lord has intricately excuse me, intricately, excuse me, I botched up that word again, but we're going to keep going with it design our bodies. Our bodies are made so that, basically, he can show us what is going on on the inside by reflecting it on the outside, where we, as humans, pay most of our attention to. Everything is like that, we see, is a reflection of what's going on internally, and then we would address it from that internal point of view. So, like I said, as we're talking about detox, as we're talking about, you know, still beginning of the year, first month going into second month let's take a journey to really detox, to really detox old mindsets, old thoughts, old eating patterns, and to take a 360 view at all of it. And as we go and embark on our journeys to lose weight and to do all these things to bring about change, let's make sure that we stick to it, because when we stick to it, we're not doing it superficially, we're not doing it just from the outside, we're going from the inside out, which is exactly how I tailor my business.
Speaker 1:So I am going to wrap up this episode right here and leave that for you guys. I hope this wasn't stepping on anyone's toes too much. It could be taken abrupt, but really, like I said, everything that I mentioned to you guys is nothing that I'm not dealing with. You know myself, on my own, before I deliver these messages, these are things. You know that the Lord speaks to me to deliver, but I'm no hypocrite. I always make sure you know, okay, before you deliver this message, are you being a hypocrite? Deliver this message? Are you being a hypocrite? Are these things that you are actually you know lining up and you know exercising in your life? Because if you are not, then you have no business going out there and telling the people. You know this message, and so I can assure you guys that you know this is not just something that I'm just speaking on, but this is something that I'm living out myself as well. So I thank you guys so much for tuning in to today's episode.
Speaker 1:On that note, I'm just going to wrap it up for there.
Speaker 1:I hope that you guys were truly, truly blessed by this episode and every other episode, and I just want to encourage you and invite you.
Speaker 1:Whatever platform you're listening on, whether it's iTunes, whether it's Apple Podcasts or Spotify or Amazon, I just want to ask you to graciously, you know, leave me a review, share it with a friend, a family member, a co-worker, really so that you know I can get this message out there and we can get this whole, you know, spiritual, health and wellness revolution, you know, moving. I really take to heart everything that the Lord has allowed me to do on this platform and I'd like to share it and to help as many people as I can, and your reviews and your shares really help me to do that. So if you want to take a minute and just leave me a nice review and, like I said, hopefully pass it on to someone who you think can be helped by it, that would be great. All right, guys, thank you so much. I send blessings over your day, night, evening, whatever this is, and I welcome you back to the next episode. Until then, be blessed and be a blessing Bye. I love you guys.
